Shag's Online Galleries (NSFW). Pour yourself a martini and slip into some hip retro art by Shag. I particularly enjoy Dead Musicians Suite and Death's Endless Vacation, but there are plenty of images with no skeletons in them for those of you who prefer celebrities, monkeys who wear fez or dangerous women.

I've been a fan of Shag's art for awhile now...it's high time I made it to one of his shows (it seems there are two upcoming in September, both in the L.A. area).

This picture gave me a laugh (being a Scorpio myself) and it's even better if you recognize the in-joke of the portrait on the wall.

I love this stuff! A friend is doing the Peace Corps thing in Micronesia and she asked for stationary last Christmas. I sent her the Shag's Tiki set. It just seemed like it would be really cool to get letters from Micronesia on that.

Is there a name for this particular art style? I remember reading an old Volvo manual drawn entirely in this style, ladies with spidery gloved hands changing oil etc...

I've got #82/250 of this guy hanging in my bedroom. It's probably the coolest thing I own that doesn't plug in.

I've always found Shag's stuff a little lightweight compared to some of the other artists in the Juxtapoz scene. If Shag is a Bartle's and Jaymes, Robt. Williams is a couple shots of Appleton 151. Matter of taste of course.

I always loved Shag's stuff. Between his use of color to the theme of something slightly sinister always going on in the picture his art is awesome. Too bad he doesn't really put out posters... just prints that a poor college kid couldn't afford. Otherwise awesome stuff.
