There is a bunch of work for sale on roqlarue.com, but I just enjoy looking at it: Image used on Iggy Pop's Brick by Brick album, Burroughs, Crumb, Elvis. More: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11. Some commercial work: Sub Pop 200 cover, Altoids "Goth Girl" [flash], and Coca-Cola's OK Soda [scroll for image] campaign. Oh, speaking of Flash on a Friday, here's a link you have to navigate to, it's a proof of concept where the work was done in Burns' style [click the second box/thumbnail in the right hand column]. And don't forget that DogBoy was serialized on MTV's Liquid Television for a while too. Interviewed: in 1992, in 1999. His most recent work, Black Hole is being collected; here are some reviews: 1, 2 if you're interested. By now you ought to be able to spot his version of the New Yorker cover [scroll], he does a nice TinTin/Hergé, as well. Previously on mefi, his then and now from the Mocca online exhibit.

I love his control of lines in his black and white drawings. I'm not a fan of his actual cartoons, but his style is pretty damn impressive. And I had never seen his "then and now", which is pretty cool.

woot, safetyfork. This is an excellent collection of links. Like Slack, I'm not a huge fan of the comics, but all of this together is great. (I really like his Tintin. It reminds me of Tintin in the New World, which is a good novel about what it would be like if Tintin grew up and had a bit of an existential crisis.)

Black Hole is the best comic drawn or written since I don't know when. As important to the medium as Fellini is to film, sincerely.

Aknaton, thanks for the Hard Nut link! And, Facetasm is great. I heart the Panter as well as the Burns. (I wanted to include Burns in that Panter/Pettibon/Chantry post but felt it would've been too much, so I thought I'd give him a separate one and just never got around to doing it until now).
