My mom, a medieval historian whose specific field of study seems to emphasize the book trade, gave a lecture at the Getty about this book when it was on loan from the Met back in the late 90's. We all got to see close ups, and it's spectacularly pretty. It's not "painting on a grain of rice" tiny, but the appeal isn't in the novelty but rather the amount of beautiful detail in the prayerbook.
